Catherine Millet retrospective interview published by artpress
artpress has released a special issue titled 'Les grands entretiens : Catherine Millet', featuring an extensive interview with the co-founder of the influential French art magazine. Millet, who launched artpress in 1972, played a key role in introducing American abstraction and its legacy—conceptual art and the Support-Surface group—to France. In 1981, she curated 'Baroques 81' at the ARC, Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, marking a resurgence of figurative painting. She served as France's commissioner for the São Paulo Biennial in 1989 and the Venice Biennale in 1995, where she selected César for the French pavilion. Millet has authored monographs on Yves Klein and Salvador Dalí, as well as surveys 'L'Art contemporain en France' (1987) and 'L'Art contemporain, histoire et géographie' (2006). Since 2001, she has pursued autobiographical writing; 'La Vie sexuelle de Catherine M.' achieved global success, followed by 'Jour de souffrance' and 'Une enfance de rêve'. In 2017, she published 'Aimer Lawrence', an essay on D.H. Lawrence. The interview includes contributions from Germano Celant, Régis Durand, Étienne Hatt, Richard Leydier, and Laurent Perez, with a foreword by Millet herself.
