Catawiki's second modern and contemporary art auction features Boldini, Carrà, and Schifano

Catawiki, the Dutch marketplace, is holding its second modern and contemporary art auction in May 2024, following a successful first sale in April that exceeded €90,000. The auction, curated by Susanna Mancini, features over 150 lots from collections across Europe, available online until May 27, 2024. Top lots include Giovanni Boldini's pastel 'La lettura' (1910s, estimate €30,000-35,000), Maurice de Vlaminck's 'Le matin d'été' (estimate €35,000-55,000), Carlo Carrà's still life (1944, estimate €35,000-45,000), Mario Schifano's 'Paesaggio Anemico' (estimate €18,000-20,000, no reserve), Joan Miró's 'Paysage Animé' (1977, estimate €25,000-30,000), and Salvo's oil on cardboard (2002, estimate €16,000-18,000). The auction also includes works by Middle Eastern artists Aref el Rayess and Seif Wanly, as well as multiples and limited editions by Lucio Fontana, Christo, Andy Warhol, Takashi Murakami, Peter Doig, and Robert Indiana. Street art by Banksy, Mr. Brainwash, and Eron, and emerging artists Vladinsky and Bianca Prettau are also featured. The auction is organized in collaboration with Artribune.
