Catania's historic gasometer explored in Volatile exhibition
The exhibition titled Volatile is currently being held at Galleria Massimo Ligreggi in Catania, running until April 10, 2024. This event highlights the city's historic gasometer, which has been providing gas for public lighting and energy since 1862. Curated by Mario Bronzino, born in 1997 in Palermo, the show showcases works from 12 emerging artists, including Erika Allia, Gabriele Argentino, Alessia Arnone, and others. Contributions in graphic design come from Paolo Costanza, Carlotta Costanzo, and Asia Sabatelli. Professors Gianluca Lombardo, Marcella Barone, Carmelo Nicosia, and Marco Lo Curzio coordinated the initiative. Barone emphasized that art can foster new connections and encourage contemplation of urban and social transformations. The exhibition is open March 23–29, April 2–5, and April 8–10, from 3 to 7 PM.
