Catalonia to Present Independent Pavilion at Venice Architecture Biennale for Third Time
For the third consecutive time, Catalonia will showcase its national pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale, under the theme "Aftermath_Catalonia in Venice. Architecture beyond architects." The Institut Ramon Llull is organizing this exhibition, which highlights seven sustainable architectural projects developed in Catalonia over the past ten years. An independent jury, led by architect Carme Pinós, selected these projects, which include a cross-border hospital, a Barcelona residential building for the elderly, a performing arts center, a parking facility, a food distribution center, and the ongoing Can Batlló community project by LaCol architects. Additionally, seven Spanish architects are contributing to SPAINLab at the Giardini della Biennale, featuring interactive audiovisual installations that resonate with the Italian Pavilion's focus on architecture as a shared resource.
