institutional · 2026-04-27

On May 19, 2020, the Castello di Rivoli Museo d'Arte Contemporanea in Rivoli, Turin, resumed operations after being closed due to the pandemic, unveiling a 'slow museum' initiative. To ensure safety, the museum has implemented thermal scanners, plexiglass dividers, hand sanitizers, compulsory masks, a 2-meter social distancing rule, and a visitor limit of 32 per floor (totaling 96 across three levels). Director Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev confirmed that no harsh sanitization methods were employed. A video titled 'L'arte cura (solo se)' by Irene Dionisio has been commissioned. Current exhibitions include 'Di fronte al collezionista' with works by Feng Mengbo and Ai Weiwei, 'Giorgio Morandi', 'James Richards', 'Claudia Comte', a solo display of Renato Leotta, the Permanent Collection, and the Cerruti Collection, which reopens on May 23. Most exhibits will be available until August 30, while Morandi concludes on July 26. Operating hours are Thursday from 10 to 17 and Friday to Sunday from 10 to 19, with the Cerruti Collection accessible on weekends from 10 to 19.
