Castello di Rivoli Launches Collective Prize for Artists Under 35

The Castello di Rivoli Museum of Contemporary Art, in partnership with the Italian association of collectors Collective, has established the Collective International Art Prize for artists under 35. The biennial award will add a new work to the museum's collection, donated by Collective members. Each edition, the winning piece—valued at €20,000—is selected by a committee comprising director Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev, head curator Marcella Beccaria, and curator Marianna Vecellio, who evaluate proposals from individual Collective members. The first winner will be announced in January 2023. Collective was founded by collector Andrea Fustinoni, managing director of Grand Hotel Miramare in Santa Margherita Ligure, alongside journalists Silvia Anna Barrilà and Maria Adelaide Marchesoni, and cultural manager Nicola Zanella. The association aims to promote contemporary art, foster dialogue among collectors, curators, museum directors, and artists, and encourage cross-cultural exchange. Christov-Bakargiev welcomed the initiative, emphasizing that private generosity is vital to the museum's mission, which is primarily supported by public entities: the Piedmont Region, the City of Turin, and the City of Rivoli.
