Casey Kenyon's Upper West Side apartment: low ceilings, big art

architecture-design · 2026-05-26

Casey Kenyon, an interior designer who launched his studio in 2019 after working with big names like Marc Jacobs and Paul Fortune, has just completed a stylish one-bedroom apartment for a couple—Ted, a screenwriter, and Josh, an agent—who split their time between Manhattan and the Hudson Valley. Located on the seventh floor, the apartment features north-facing rooms that provide subtle light but have low ceilings, which required careful planning. Kenyon opted for lower-profile furniture to replace a bulky sofa from their Upstate home. He customized pieces to fit narrow hallways and a cramped elevator, delivering the sofa in sections. Their art collection includes nine Andy Warhol Polaroids and works by Diane Arbus, among others, all beautifully displayed throughout the space.
