Cascina Roma in San Donato Milanese becomes international photography center

Cascina Roma Fotografia, a project by the Municipality of San Donato Milanese in collaboration with Gruppo Fotografico Progetto Immagine, has transformed a historic farmhouse into an international photography center. Directed by Alberto Prina, founder of the Festival della Fotografia Etica di Lodi, the center will host exhibitions, workshops, courses, and educational programs from November 2018 to December 2021. Its inaugural exhibition features over 80 winning images from the Andrei Stenin International Press Photo Contest, displayed for the first time in Italy until February 23, 2020. The Grand Prix was awarded to Italian photographer Gabriele Cecconi for his series "I miserabili e la terra" on the environmental impact of the Rohingya migration in Bangladesh. Other winners include Sameer Al-Doumy, Kitra Cahana, Justin Sullivan, Alexei Vasilyev, Ayanava Sil, Alexei Filippov, Francis Rousseau, Mushfiqul Alam, and Andrea Alai. On February 13, 2020, photojournalist Alfredo Bosco will present his work "Forgotten Guerrero" on Mexico's drug war, which won a Red Cross award at the same contest.
