Casaornella's 2026 Edition Explores the 'Social Animal' in a Doorless Milan Apartment
For the 2026 Milan Design Week, interior designer Maria Vittoria Paggini has completely transformed her apartment-showroom Casaornella at Via Conca del Naviglio 10. The new edition, titled 'Animale Sociale' with the subtitle 'Nessuno mi può giudicare,' reflects on human relationships in the digital age. The space is designed without doors, creating a fluid layout where rooms communicate through large openings. A custom kitchen by Turati Cucine features a mirrored pantry cabinet with chromatic tiles and backlit inserts. The bathroom is conceived as a cozy sitting room in green and blue tones, with gouache-painted bas-reliefs and decorative stuccoes. Paggini curated a soundtrack spanning Italian singer-songwriters from Mina to Luigi Tenco, folk, and nu-disco. Casaornella, first opened in 2023, is a permanent exhibition space that undergoes a total renovation each year and opens to the public during Design Week.
