Casanova Museum & Experience Opens in Venice at Palazzo Pesaro Papafava
The Casanova Museum & Experience will open on April 2, 2018, at Palazzo Pesaro Papafava in Venice, 220 years after Giacomo Casanova's death. The museum, located in the Cannaregio district near the Grand Canal, is a multimedia exhibition curated by ETT Solutions on a concept by Massimiliano Zane. It aims to reconstruct Casanova's life and the atmosphere of 18th-century Venice through six self-contained rooms, immersive environments, interactive exhibits, and audiovisual guides for a 45-minute visit. The project is promoted by the Giacomo Casanova Foundation and will also host collateral events focused on Venetian 18th-century traditions. Casanova (1725–1798) was a poet, writer, and adventurer, best known as a seducer, but the museum seeks to highlight his multifaceted intellectual legacy.
