CasaEnPiedras: A House Embedded in Córdoba's Rocky Landscape
CasaEnPiedras, crafted by Mariana Palacios and Azul Sánchez from Estudio Palacios, serves as a family getaway located near Taninga, Córdoba, Argentina, seamlessly blending with the mountainous landscape. The structure consists of two horizontal sections that wrap around existing rock formations. Given the region's cold, arid climate and limited infrastructure, the architects chose an industrialized approach using lightweight materials. Corten steel and black Portoro cladding enhance the connection to the surroundings. The main residence is designed for three siblings and their families, while a distinct “mamahouse” provides private areas for the mother. Shared amenities include a swimming pool and padel court. This project is featured in Glocal Design Magazine's issue 89, titled “Visionarias del espacio,” showcasing 15 female architects and designers.
