Casa Tres Pochotes by FAMM Arquitectura Wraps Around Existing Trees in Costa Rica
FAMM Arquitectura has completed Casa Tres Pochotes, a 440 m² single-family residence in Playa Hermosa de Cóbano, Costa Rica. The project, led by architects Mariano Mesalles and Felipe Apéstegui, takes its name and spatial organization from three existing pochote trees on the site. Rather than treating the vegetation as a constraint, the house is arranged around the trees, allowing them to define the geometry of the volumes, the orientation of spaces, and the relationship between architecture and landscape. The project was completed in 2024 and photographed by Thibault Cartier.
