Casa SONO by Atelier Carle: A Concrete and Wood Residence in Quebec

Atelier Carle has completed Casa SONO, a 2,300-square-foot residential project in Wentworth North, Quebec, curated by Susanna Moreira. The design, led by principal architects Isaniel Lévesque and Alain Carle, features three long concrete walls of varying heights that frame the entrance and anchor the building to the landscape. A narrow opening between the walls reveals the entry, beyond which common areas are organized with a flexible layout and wooden structure, suggesting adaptability over time. The project team includes designers James Jabbour and Starr Wang, technical staff Baptiste Balbrick and Sarah Mei Mousseau, general contractor Metric Construction Inc., structural engineers VCMa Engineering Consultants, and civil engineers Ingénat Engineering Consultants.
