Casa Sanlorenzo Opens with WAVES During Venice Biennale

exhibition · 2026-05-06

During the 61st Venice Biennale, Sanlorenzo Arts inaugurates its first exhibition, WAVES, at Casa Sanlorenzo in Dorsoduro. The space, a restored 1940s building by Piero Lissoni, sits between Peggy Guggenheim Collection and Punta della Dogana. Curated by Sergio Risaliti and Cristiano Seganfreddo, the show runs from May 6 to June 28 and explores the wave as a structural principle across art, science, and design. It features works by Alexander Calder, Lucio Fontana, Fausto Melotti, Christine Safa, Tony Cragg, Marcello Maloberti, and Friedrich Andreoni, with a scientific perspective from Ersilia Vaudo Scarpetta and a fragrance by Xerjoff. The project marks Sanlorenzo's cultural evolution under Executive Chairman Massimo Perotti, who has expanded the yacht builder (now over €1 billion revenue, owner of Nautor Swan) into art sponsorship since 2016 Art Basel Miami Beach.
