Casa Sanlorenzo: New Contemporary Art Hub Opens in Venice

institutional · 2026-04-26

Luxury yacht manufacturer Sanlorenzo has opened Casa Sanlorenzo, a new 1,000 sqm contemporary art space in Venice's Dorsoduro district, steps from Punta della Dogana. The venue, designed by architect Piero Lissoni, occupies a restored 1940s residence with a 600 sqm garden overlooking the Basilica of Santa Maria della Salute. The project is part of Sanlorenzo Arts, the company's contemporary art promotion initiative. Executive Chairman Massimo Perotti described the space as a place to 'stop, reflect, share.' Inaugural works from the Sanlorenzo collection include pieces by Alighiero Boetti, Lucio Fontana, and Emil Michael Klein. Casa Sanlorenzo launched during the first Venice Climate Week (through June 6, 2025), hosting talks on ecological transition and sustainable innovation. The building's renovation contrasts with Venetian tradition, featuring minimal interiors by Lissoni and a Scarpa-inspired bridge entrance.
