Casa Manzoni in Milan Hosts Exhibition of Three Artists Bound by Family Ties

exhibition · 2026-04-26

From November 22 to December 13, Milan's Casa Manzoni hosts "Una sana promessa," showcasing the works of Pompeo Mariani (1857–1927), Mosè Bianchi (1840–1904), and Elisabetta Keller (1891–1969). This exhibition marks the tenth anniversary of their archive's establishment, featuring a collection of paintings, documents, and writings. Mariani, who was Bianchi's nephew, excelled in landscape and portrait art, studied under Eleuterio Pagliano, traveled to Egypt in 1880, and received the Premio Principe Umberto in 1884. Bianchi, a prominent member of the Scapigliatura movement, took on the role of director at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Cignaroli in 1898. Keller, a student of Bersani, focused on pastels and oils, championing women's rights and co-founding Italy's first Soroptimist Club. The exhibition is organized by Associazione Culturale Mosè Bianchi Pompeo Mariani Elisabetta Keller.
