Casa Malija: A Contemporary Home Overlooking Slovenian Istria

Casa Malija, a 271 m² contemporary residence designed by Raketa and Tria Studio, opened in 2024. Curated by Nina Vuga, the house sits on a panoramic site above Slovenian Istria, offering views toward Croatia, the Sečovlje salt pans, and the Italian horizon. The design, led by architects Katjuša Kranjc and Rok Kuhar with landscape architect Mitja Škrjanc, centers on dissolving boundaries between interior and exterior through materials, natural light, and spatial organization. The guiding concept is 'the outside inside,' creating a fluid relationship between architecture, landscape, and dwelling. Photographs by Žiga Lovšin document the project.
