Casa Maitò: luxury art hotel opens in Forte dei Marmi

architecture-design · 2026-04-26

Casa Maitò, a new boutique hotel in Forte dei Marmi, Italy, has opened as an exclusive weekly rental property priced at approximately €120,000 per week, including services from the adjacent Maitò Beach Club. The project was commissioned by Gruppo Continental, which already owns several seaside restaurants and the beach club. Architect Marco Casamonti of Florence-based Archea Associati oversaw the renovation of the existing building at Viale Ammiraglio Morin 2. The hotel spans 1,950 square meters over five floors, with six suites including a presidential penthouse with panoramic terrace. Art features prominently: a staircase installation by Gustavo Vélez in polished stainless steel, entrance panels by Emilio Isgrò, a ceiling installation by Francesca Pasquali, a custom bar by sculptor Mikayel Ohanjanyan, and photographs by Massimo Listri throughout. Materials include white ceramic cladding inspired by late Art Nouveau floral motifs, green marble for the pool, and a resin floor embedding sand from Forte dei Marmi beach in the presidential suite.
