Casa Macahuite by Studio Font in Puerto Escondido

Studio Font, led by architect Raquel Font, has completed Casa Macahuite, a 300 m² residential project in Puerto Escondido, Mexico, in 2025. The house is conceived as a set of five planes—four vertical walls and a floating pergola—arranged in direct relation to the landscape of sea and mountains. This configuration creates intermediate spaces that provide shade, cross ventilation, and continuous visual connection with the surroundings, making climate and place the main articulators of the project. The architecture team included construction by Efraín Salinas Ríos, electrical engineering by KOVA, mechanical engineering by FREMER, and structural engineering by F. Calleja. The project was curated by Valentina Díaz and photographed by Albers Studio.
