Casa Línea: Instinto Estudio's Tropical Houses in Nosara Frame the Jungle Landscape
In the heart of the Guiones jungle in Nosara, Costa Rica, Instinto Estudio has completed Casa Línea, a project comprising two tropical houses designed to frame the landscape, promote natural ventilation, and create gathering spaces in close contact with nature. The architecture is conceived as a series of lines that structure the views and the living experience. The project, completed in 2024, covers an area of 712 square meters and was curated by Valentina Díaz. The lead architects are Laura Morelli, Alejandro Gonzalez, and Cesar Coto, with design team member Harold Solano and technical team member Alejandra Paiz. Structural engineering was provided by Estruconsult, electrical engineering by Dynamo Ingeniería, interior design by Taller Ken, and general construction by Constructora LHC. Álvaro Fonseca, who also served as photographer, contributed to other engineering and consulting aspects. The project is categorized under 'Casas' (Houses) and was published on ArchDaily. The design emphasizes the integration of architecture with the surrounding jungle, using the built forms as a lens to highlight the natural environment.
