Casa La Mirada: Contemporary Warmth in Sonora

Casa La Mirada, a 464 m² residential project by TAMEN ARQ in Hermosillo, Sonora, completed in 2025, redefines domestic architecture through light, materiality, and spatial continuity. Designed by architects Alejandra Vidal Salcido and Michelle Bloch, the house features natural woods, expressive marble veining, and neutral tones to create a serene atmosphere. The kitchen serves as the heart of the home, with a central island organizing daily dynamics and opening the space for coexistence. Custom millwork and marble surfaces elevate the character, while integrated and decorative lighting reinforces spaciousness. The social area integrates kitchen and living room through an open, warm, and functional layout, with a custom media unit in wood and indirect lighting. Upstairs, a family room expands private life with flexible furniture and natural light, and the girls' bedroom follows the same language with soft tones and simple lines. The facade translates the interior logic with pure volumes, horizontal lines, solid planes, dark frames, and lighting details, presenting an elegant, serene, and contemporary image. The project was featured in Glocal Design Magazine's 88th edition, which explores sustainability as a system redefining contemporary architectural practice through climate, territory, materials, and social responsibility.
