Casa Esagono Restoration Complete, Opens for Artist Residencies

In July 2023, the renovation of Casa Esagono (1957-1960) in Baratti, Tuscany, was completed. This architectural gem, once a summer retreat for architect Vittorio Giorgini, has welcomed artists such as Gordon Matta-Clark and Isamu Noguchi. Since 2013, it has been under the ownership of B.A.Co. and the Comune di Piombino. Architect Marco Del Francia mentioned that it is now acknowledged as a cultural asset in the Censimento delle architetture italiane dal 1945 ad oggi. The restoration involved recreating lost furnishings and establishing artist residencies, while the garden is set to transform into an environmental art park. Del Francia also highlighted newfound insights into Giorgini's construction techniques. Casa Esagono is celebrated for its artistic and touristic significance, engaging local associations and professionals in diverse activities.
