architecture-design · 2026-08-10

KENTA HIRAYAMA ARCHITECT & ASSOCIATES has designed a single-family residence in the Kinuta district of Setagaya, Tokyo. The project, curated by Miwa Negoro, covers an area of 145 square meters and is slated for completion in 2026. The design team includes structural engineer Tetsuya Tanaka Structural Engineers, interior and furniture designer Katsuaki Kobayashi, lighting designer AURORA Inc. (Yoshiki Ichikawa), landscape architect Hashiuchi Landscape Design, and construction team Miki Kensetsu (Ryo Shibusawa, Hironobu Suzuki). Photographs are by Kengaku Tomooki. The architects were inspired by the street's large red pines and older homes, aiming to create a house that feels like a natural part of the landscape.
