architecture-design · 2026-05-27

Obranegra Arquitectos has completed Casa en el Embalse, a 738 m² house on a small peninsula of the La Fe reservoir, 30 km east of Medellín, Colombia. The project, completed in 2025, responds to the site's variable mountain climate where fog, intense sun, heavy rain, and cold nights occur within a single day. The design team includes Carlos Pardo Botero, Mauricio Zuloaga Latorre, and Nicolás Vélez Jaramillo as lead architects, with Daniel Valencia, Daniel Zuluaga, Manuela Vargas, and Hernan Ruiz contributing to the design. Construction was carried out by EnPiedra, and landscape architecture by Nicolás Hermelin. Photographs are by Mauricio Carvajal. The project's category is houses.
