Casa en Armonía: A Tranquil Sanctuary in Isfahan's Dense Urban Fabric

In the dense Dolatabad neighborhood of Isfahan, Golchin Studio has completed Casa en Armonía, a 268-square-meter residence designed for a family of four. The project, completed in 2025, creates an introverted sanctuary that reconciles multigenerational living with a highly heterogeneous urban environment. The site, flanked by an active car oil change workshop to the west, a mixed-use commercial and residential building to the east, an 8-meter-wide street leading directly to a primary school to the north, and a narrow 4-meter residential passage to the south, presented significant challenges. The program required flexible distribution to accommodate visiting grandparents while maintaining high thermal comfort, acoustic privacy, and natural light. The design team, led by principal architects Navid Golchin and Rezvan Alipour, included design team member Zahra Ahmadjoo, technical team member Hadi Hosseini, and structural engineer Mohammad Fattahi. The project was curated by Miwa Negoro and photographed by Mohammad Soroosh Jooshesh of COMO photography studio. The house is located in Dowlatabad, Isfahan, Iran.
