Casa do Povo Launches CASA-ESCOLA Pedagogical Program Ool

Casa do Povo in São Paulo has launched CASA-ESCOLA, a new pedagogical program titled Ool. The five-month immersive program, developed in partnership with artist and educator Luiza Crosman, aims to gather individuals already engaged in collective practices intersecting with the arts. Applications are open until Monday, July 5, with a selection process. The program seeks to function as a shared learning space where participants can exchange tools, utilize Casa do Povo's networks, and design their own formative paths. It intends to foster collective projects, network consolidation, and the sharing of systemic action methodologies. The initiative reflects the institution's historical focus on joint action, dialogue, and processes, having been founded in the 1940s by progressive Jews in the Bom Retiro neighborhood. Ool will explore contemporary collectivity, addressing how social networks, platforms, nationalism, and the pandemic have reshaped notions of being together. The program is divided into two groups running from August 2021 to June 2022, each featuring three tutors—Guilherme Marcondes, Alice Noujaim, and Amara Moira—and ten online workshops. Participants will also have access to a budget for collective group actions.
