Casa degli Artisti Milano Announces 2023 Multidisciplinary Program

Casa degli Artisti, a nonprofit cultural association in central Milan, has unveiled its extensive 2023 program featuring open studios, artist residencies, exhibitions, talks, and workshops. The City of Milan granted the space through a public tender, supporting its mission as an artistic hub for the city's social fabric. Culture Councillor Tommaso Sacchi emphasized the venue's resilience post-pandemic as an open, experimental space for art and sociality. Key initiatives include the artist residency program, accessible via invitation or open call, and the newly launched Studio Produzione call supporting art production in Milan. Between June and October 2023, two additional calls will be released: Danzare gli spazi, conceived by Anna Cremonini, Paolo Cantù, and Riccardo Olivier, and E-Side-Insights on electronic music, curated by Taketo Gohara. A call titled Poesia, curated by Luca Mastrantonio, will focus on word artists. On May 26, the exhibition Golfo Garibaldi-Studio Light by Paul Goodwin (born 1951, Yorkshire) opens; Goodwin maintained a studio at Casa degli Artisti from 1984 to 2007. The Public Program includes a talk on May 12, From the void came the gifts of the cosmos, featuring Ibrahim Mahama (born 1987, Ghana), who created an installation at Bastioni di Porta Venezia in 2019 curated by Massimiliano Gioni. The following weekend, the collective ruangrupa will host a public workshop after curating the 15th edition of Documenta in Kassel.
