Casa de Cultura do Parque Launches Second Exhibition Cycle with Three Shows and Free Workshops

exhibition · 2026-04-23

Casa de Cultura do Parque in São Paulo has initiated its II Ciclo Expositivo 2021, running from November 27, 2021, to March 13, 2022. Under the artistic direction of Claudio Cretti, the cycle presents three concurrent exhibitions. The collective 'De Terra e Gás' features works by Germana Monte-Mór, Paulo Monteiro, and Solange Pessoa, artists active since the 1980s and 1990s whose pieces engage with post-minimalism, Italian arte povera, Brazilian neoconcretism, and national folk art. A solo exhibition by Luís Teixeira, titled 'Gargalo', presents ten works exploring kinetic tension in static objects. Additionally, Estela Sokol's series 'Pepinos, Sad & Brazilian' is displayed on the institution's 280 x 1020 wall, comprising 27 paintings made with colored felts on wooden chassis that reference a viral 2020 internet meme. Alongside the exhibitions, the institution offers a free program of in-person and virtual workshops throughout December, including 'mo.du.lar' on December 11 and 'Dando bandeira' on December 18, inspired by previous exhibitions. These intergenerational activities aim to foster a plural and inclusive cultural production.
