Founded in 2016 by Luca De Santis and Paola Corini, Cartography is an Italian travel magazine based in Milan that combines high-quality print with artistic storytelling. The project is sustained through advertising, collaborations with private and public companies, creative direction, and video production. The founders cite Humboldt Books as an inspiration and emphasize Milan's cosmopolitan creative ecosystem. They aim to maintain quality despite the challenges of independent publishing in Italy, where startups receive no special advantages for the first three years.
