Cartasia Biennial Returns to Lucca with Paper Art and Design
The eighth edition of Cartasia, the biennial dedicated to paper, takes place in Lucca from July 31 to September 10, 2016. The theme is Confini e Prospettive (Borders and Perspectives). The event is divided into three sections: an art section at Palazzo Ducale featuring famous paper artists and monumental outdoor sculptures; a design section at La Cavallerizza with an agora built entirely from cardboard hosting talks; and a Fun section aimed at engaging children through play. Activities include Creative Labs and a giant cardboard chessboard in the central square, claimed to be the world's largest. Volunteers are sought to assist with exhibitions and events, with benefits including a one-year subscription to Artribune Magazine.
