Carsten Höller Opens The Double Club at Luna Luna Los Angeles
Carsten Höller has unveiled a new experiential installation titled The Double Club at Luna Luna, the amusement park revived by rapper Drake in Los Angeles. The work, created in collaboration with Prada, invites visitors to engage with themes of duality and division through a multi-part environment featuring a DJ set, a vintage carousel, spinning chairs, and roller coasters. On March 9 and 10, during Oscar weekend, a special musical program curated by Höller and Drake took place. This is not Höller's first involvement with Luna Luna; he participated in its original 1987 opening in Hamburg, conceived by André Heller alongside artists like Basquiat, Haring, Dalí, and Hockney. The collaboration between Höller and Prada dates back to 2000, when he created Upside Down Mushroom Room at Fondazione Prada, and includes the 2017 Double Club Miami, a temporary nightclub split into indoor and outdoor spaces.
