Carrara Studi Aperti returns for tenth edition across city studios
The tenth edition of Carrara Studi Aperti will take place from June 7 to 9, 2024, opening artists' studios and workshops to the public across Carrara. The event is organized by the APS "Oltre" association, founded in 2018, whose board members have collaborated for about ten years. Inauguration is scheduled for Friday, June 7 at 6:30 PM in Piazza Duomo, featuring greetings from organizers and institutions, a talk, and a concert. Participants can join for a 10-euro membership fee, receiving a map (paper and digital) and booking guided tours. Seven guided thematic routes are offered, plus two new experiences: trekking and e-bike tours. Routes include visits to artists' studios, sculpture workshops, and exhibitions in various city locations, including spaces provided by local merchants hosting artists without studios. Carrara, recognized as a UNESCO Creative City, has 30% of its population working as artists or artisans. The initiative aims to valorize the city's artistic and artisanal heritage, fostering dialogue between past and present.
