Carrara's Via Santa Maria Reopens with 11 Art Projects for Urban Revival

Carrara has initiated "Arte Abitata," a project running from April to December 2026 at Via Santa Maria 9, designed to combat social and cultural desertification. This initiative, backed by the Municipality of Carrara and ERP Massa-Carrara, includes eleven curated proposals that merge artistic endeavors with socio-cultural engagement. The ground-floor venue will showcase a series of visual arts and wellness events. The program commenced on April 4 with "America rovesciata," an exhibition featuring Jorge Romeo and Hector Carrasco, which will be available until May 3. Other contributors include Gaia Pivac, Margherita Silvestri, Barbara Poggetti, Mariama Diakhate Sokhna, Benedetta Salutini, Gunel Rzayeva, Natalia Gudovich, Ilaria Vescovo, and Giovanni Giannarelli. The series will wrap up with "Inhabit." Culture Councillor Gea Dazzi highlighted the project's significance in restoring the connection between the community and its environment.
