Carolina Fence Garden and Seed Initiative at South Carolina State Museum
In collaboration with The Riley Institute's DLI Midlands Cohort, the South Carolina State Museum has introduced Planting South Carolina Roots, a community seed and native garden initiative. This project, developed alongside the South Carolina Wildlife Federation, features a Carolina Fence Garden, which includes a unique split-rail 'worm' fence designed to create a wildlife-friendly environment. The garden aims to foster vital habitats and educational experiences, utilizing native plants to draw in pollinators and birds. It encourages gardeners of all ages to engage with the natural history and plant life of the state.
