Retrospettiva di Carolee Schneemann al Krannert Art Museum Esplora le Prime Influenze e le Opere Provocatorie

Il Krannert Art Museum dell'Università dell'Illinois a Urbana-Champaign ha ospitato una mostra retrospettiva intitolata 'Carolee Schneemann: Within and Beyond the Premises' dal 27 gennaio al 1° aprile 2012. Questa esposizione, originata al Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art, ha messo in luce opere significative come 'Fuses' (1964-67), 'Meat Joy' (1964-2010), 'Eye Body: 36 Transformative Actions' (1963), 'Up to and Including Her Limits' (1973-76), 'Terminal Velocity' (2001) e 'Snows' (1967). Ha inoltre presentato 'Schneemann, Tenney and Kitch: The Illinois Years' (1959-60) e ha posto una forte enfasi sulle proiezioni cinematografiche. Da notare che Schneemann ha conseguito il suo MFA presso l'Università dell'Illinois nel 1961 ed è stata riconosciuta per le sue collaborazioni d'avanguardia. La direttrice Kathleen Harleman ha riconosciuto le difficoltà nel tour a causa della natura provocatoria delle opere.
