Carol Rama's Graphic Works in Two Sardinian Museums

Two Sardinian museums, EXMA in Cagliari and MACC in Calasetta, jointly present Carol Rama's graphic works until June 26, 2016. The exhibition 'Lei, Lui, Loro' is curated by Roberta Vanali, Efisio Carbone, Ivana Mulatero, and Alexandra Wetzel, with contributions from Simona Campus, Pino Mantovani, and Giangavino Pazzola. The project draws from the artist's print archive provided by her official printer Franco Masoero. The body—human or animal—is the central theme, explored with anger, irony, and desire. The two venues split the theme: Cagliari focuses on women, Calasetta on men, with a section on couples designed by Antonio Marras in both locations. The collaboration stems from a need for smaller institutions like MACC to network regionally. The curators worked via Skype and face-to-face meetings, emphasizing friendship and esteem as driving values. The exhibition also highlights Sardinian artist Rosanna Rossi, who shared a friendship with Rama through gallerist Giancarlo Salzano.
