Carol Bove and Livio Bernasconi in Dialogue at Lugano's Collezione Olgiati
At Spazio -1 in Lugano, part of the LAC, a new project room for temporary exhibitions has just opened, and it will be available until December. The inaugural exhibit showcases the work of Swiss-American artists Carol Bove, born in Geneva in 1971, and Livio Bernasconi, who hails from Muralto and was born in 1932. Both artists focus on deconstructed forms and vibrant colors; Bove's large-scale sculptures morph graphic symbols into abstract, wrinkled designs, while Bernasconi's recent pieces draw from Color Field, Hard Edge, and Pop Art within a chaotic postmodern framework. Additionally, the permanent collection features updated sections, including a monochrome area with works by various artists and a newly expanded Arman room with significant 1960s pieces.
