Carnegie Museum of Art reveals 58th International exhibition artists with focus on global narratives
On 24 September 2022, the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh will unveil its 58th Carnegie International exhibition, which will continue until 2 April 2023. Sohrab Mohebbi serves as the curator, alongside associate curator Ryan Inouye and curatorial assistant Talia Heiman. This exhibition showcases artists such as Susan Meiselas, Carlos Motta, Daniel Lie, Pacita Abad, and the late Etel Adnan, with many of them exhibiting in the United States for the first time. The title, 'Is it morning for you yet?', is inspired by a Kaqchikel phrase that reflects diverse human experiences. Mohebbi emphasized that the artists' works intertwine histories of pain and resilience. Notably, Susan Meiselas won the Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize in 2019, and Carlos Motta received the Future Generation Art Prize in 2014. The complete list of artists can be found online.
