Carnegie International 58th Edition Opens September 2022
The Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh is hosting the 58th Carnegie International, which runs from September 24, 2022, to April 2, 2023. This long-standing contemporary art exhibition, started by Andrew Carnegie in 1896, occurs every four years and aims to enrich the museum's collection while engaging the community. Over time, it has shifted from a broad display to a more focused look at abstraction and modern art. Curated by Sohrab Mohebbi, with Ryan Inouye and Talia Heiman assisting, the show includes artists like Susan Meiselas, Carlos Motta, and the late Etel Adnan. The title, 'Is it morning for you yet?', comes from a phrase in Mayan Kaqchikel.
