Carlo Zauli Centenary Exhibition at Casa Museo Boschi Di Stefano
The exhibition titled 'Carlo Zauli 1926–2026. Tra Faenza e Milano' is currently being showcased at Casa Museo Boschi Di Stefano in Milan from March 13 to June 7, 2026. Curated by Gaspare Luigi Marcone and in partnership with the Museo Carlo Zauli, this event celebrates the 100th anniversary of the artist's birth. Born on August 19, 1926, in Faenza—after which the term 'faïence' is named—Zauli developed his craft in a city renowned for its ceramics, with the MIC – Museo Internazionale delle Ceramiche as a significant influence. His artistic journey was enriched through interactions with notable figures such as Lucio Fontana and Gio Ponti. In 1957, he made his debut in Milan by participating in the XI Triennale and exhibiting solo at Galleria Montenapoleone. In the 1970s, he established a studio near Arco della Pace and showcased his work in Japan, resonating with the local appreciation for imperfection. The exhibition features a range of his creations, from early vases to 'vasi sconvolti' (disturbed vases), including pieces like 'Sfaldatura dorata (zolla)' (1971) and 'Cubo Alato' (1987). A highlight is the 'bianco Zauli,' a white inspired by Renaissance ceramics. The venue also hosts a ceramics school founded by Marieda Di Stefano, promoting practical learning and collaboration.
