Carlo Maresca SpA Expands Young Artist Support in Pescara with New Editions and Gallery
In Pescara, the Carlo Maresca SpA, led by Silvio Maresca, has launched the second edition of I Giardini d'Arte di Via Caravaggio, a project supporting emerging artists. Curated by art historian Ivan D'Alberto, the initiative includes installations in green areas around the company's headquarters at the former Fornace Forlani (built 1880, active until the 1940s). The second edition involves eight Italian Academies of Fine Arts, twelve teachers, and thirty-one young artists, tripling the first edition's scale. New components include STREET, six murals by international writers coordinated by Antonello Piccinino (MACS) on a railway wall, and the Young Artist Gallery (YAG), a 1,500 sqm exhibition space in the company basement. YAG features a permanent collection of works by recent graduates and a temporary exhibition program with five solo shows per year. The inaugural show, Fragile Eterno by Martina Cioffi, runs until June 15. Artists were selected through recommendations from academy professors and evaluated by an internal committee. Silvio Maresca stated the project aims to invest in emerging artists and dialogue with the city, contributing to urban development.
