Carlo Frinolli on Post-Pandemic Design and COVIDesignJam

Carlo Frinolli, Head of Design and CEO of nois3, an experience design agency founded in 2013 in Rome, discusses the impact of the pandemic on his work. An engineer by training, Frinolli specializes in UI/UX design with a focus on Human Centered Design and Co-Design. Since 2014, he has organized WUDRome, an international event since 2005 that gathers digital communication professionals. During lockdown, he valued rediscovering proximity to his neighborhood but criticized excessive conference calls. His work shifted from physical workshops to digital tools, blending physical and digital approaches. He sees design as key to post-Covid societal change, emphasizing curiosity, collaboration, and inclusion. On May 22-24, 2020, he organized the COVIDesignJam, an online event involving philosophers, athletes, musicians, and others to reimagine daily life. Frinolli plans to continue exploring distributed, hybrid digital-physical design approaches.
