Carla Sozzani on 10 Corso Como's Vision and Legacy

Carla Sozzani, founder of 10 Corso Como, reflects on the origins and philosophy of the iconic Milanese concept store in an interview with artist and curator Stefania Gaudiosi. Sozzani describes how the space, which began in a former garage, evolved into a hybrid destination combining a gallery, bookstore, restaurant, fashion boutique, and foundation. Sociologist Francesco Morace called it the first concept store in history, while a recent essay by Emanuele Coccia and Donatien Grau, 'The Transitory Museum,' explores its unique model. Sozzani emphasizes the importance of creating something unprecedented and maintaining a childlike curiosity. In 2020, the brand was acquired by entrepreneur Tiziana Fausti, with Sozzani continuing to lead cultural activities, the gallery, and the Fondazione Sozzani.
