Caret Studio's In Limine Gatehouse Transforms Industrial Entrance in Lucca

architecture-design · 2026-05-19

In the province of Lucca, Caret Studio has completed the In Limine Gatehouse, an industrial entrance that redefines the threshold as an architectural manifesto. Curated by Hadir Al Koshta, the project transcends functional requirements of a security checkpoint and refreshment area, becoming an identifying landmark that communicates the company's values. The design team includes Matteo Chelazzi, Federico Cheloni, Roberto Canu, and Francesco Cobucci, with structural engineering by Andrea Carmassi and MEP engineering by Andrea Beneforti and Floriano Marchi. Steel construction was handled by Iron & Steel, geotechnical work by Eredi Sabatini Renzo, mechanical systems by Delta Elettroclima, and electrical systems by Teknomatic. General contractor STET oversaw construction, with concrete works by FMD srl and façades/cladding by Faraone Industrie. Photographs by Lorenzo Zandri.
