Careof Milano Celebrates 35 Years of Video Art Research and Production
Careof, an association based in Milan dedicated to contemporary artistic research and video, marks its 35th anniversary this year. Established in 1987 by founders Mario Gorni, Zefferina Castoldi, Dino Ferruzzi, Massimo Sola, Gabriella Castoldi, and Meri Gorni in Cusano Milanino, the organization has consistently emphasized new technologies and video art. In 2006, its video and photographic collections were deemed of national historical significance by the Ministry of Culture. Through its ArteVisione initiative, launched in 2011 with Sky Italia, Careof has showcased works by artists including Yuri Ancarani and Francesco Bertocco. To celebrate the milestone, Careof hosted ArteVisione Focus, featuring Hito Steyerl’s screening and a panel led by Alessandra Donati, alongside publishing Italian translations of Steyerl's writings. Upcoming events include a solo exhibition by Caterina Erica Shanta in January 2023 and a group show titled 'Tungsteno' during MiArt.
