Cardi Gallery Opens New Ibiza Location with Italian Art Stars
Cardi Gallery, founded in Milan in 1972 by Renato Cardi, has opened a new branch in Ibiza on July 8, 2025. The gallery, now led by his son Nicolò Cardi, previously expanded to London on October 3, 2016. The Ibiza space, designed by young Italian architect Henry Timi, features 10-meter ceilings and travertine marble cladding, described as a 'small kunsthalle.' It is the only serious art gallery on the island, located within a luxury complex. The inaugural group exhibition includes works by Jannis Kounellis, Bonalumi, Castellani, Vezzoli, Paolini, and outdoor sculptures by Mimmo Paladino. For the next three years, the gallery will operate seasonally from May to October. Nicolò Cardi notes that Ibiza attracts wealthy investors and collectors, comparing its market to Greece's, and sees a solid client base beyond its reputation as a youth party destination.
