Caravaggio's Impossible Show in Fossano
Forty high-definition, full-scale reproductions of Caravaggio's paintings are on display at Castello degli Acaja and Museo Diocesano in Fossano until July 9. The exhibition, titled 'Caravaggio, La Mostra Impossibile', was conceived and produced by RAI in collaboration with Italy's Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Tourism, and organized by Munus. Originating in 2010 at the Mercati di Traiano in Rome, the project has evolved alongside technological advances. Featured works include famous pieces like 'Bacco' and 'Medusa', as well as less accessible ones such as 'Ragazzo morso da un ramarro' from the Fondazione Roberto Longhi in Florence, normally viewable only for study. Altarpieces from the Contarelli Chapel in San Luigi dei Francesi in Rome are also reproduced, allowing close viewing with optimal lighting.
