Car Rams Pedestrians in Leipzig, Two Dead

On Monday, a car struck a crowd in central Leipzig, resulting in two fatalities and two individuals suffering serious injuries. Witnesses observed a Volkswagen SUV racing through the pedestrian area on Grimmaische Strasse, which connects to the shopping district. Authorities apprehended the 33-year-old German driver, who is no longer considered a threat. Mayor Burkhard Jung of Leipzig acknowledged the deaths but stated that the motive remains unclear.
