Capsule Shanghai Opens First International Outpost in Venice
Capsule Shanghai, a Chinese gallery founded in 2016 by Italian gallerist Enrico Polato, opens its first international branch in Venice. The new space, Capsule Venice, is located in the Fondazione Giorgio e Armanda Marchesani in the Dorsoduro district. It will launch on February 24, 2024, with the group exhibition "When We Become Us²," a sequel to the gallery's inaugural show in Shanghai. The exhibition features 29 artists connected to the gallery. The program will be curated by Manuela Lietti, a critic and author with degrees in Oriental Languages from Ca' Foscari University and in Chinese Art History from Tsinghua University. The expansion coincides with the Year of the Dragon and the 60th Venice Biennale.
