Capri Launches Festival del Paesaggio with Site-Specific Installations and Photography
The Festival del Paesaggio made its debut on Capri from May 4 to 7, 2016, curated by Gianluca Riccio and Arianna Rosica. This event aims to breathe new life into a tradition that began in 1922 with Edwin Cerio, the island’s mayor and a notable thinker, who wanted to reshape Capri's image beyond the usual tourist clichés. Collaborating on this festival are Fondazione Capri, Associazione il Rosaio, the Anacapri municipality, Fondazione Exclusiva, and the Accademia di Belle Arti di Urbino. The first phase included a residency for artists Stefano Arienti and Liliana Moro, featuring their work at Villa San Michele. Starting July 30, the second phase at Casa Rossa will highlight Luigi Ghirri’s 1981 photos until September 25, alongside additional exhibits and events throughout the summer.
